The Wall Street—Washington Connection
March 27, 2012 at 7:00 pm EST
Gaston Hall at Georgetown University
37th and O St., N.W. Washington, DC 20007
On March 27th, 2012, Culture Project staged and live-streamed an ambitious program called Blueprint for Accountability: The Wall Street Washington Connection, hosted by The Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice at Georgetown University, confronting the economic crisis in the United States and provoking fresh dialogue about the role of financial and corporate powers in the political and democratic life of this country. The series assembled some of the most important and influential voices of our time.
In light of the unprecedented crash of 2008, the flagrant conduct of Wall Street, the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington, D.C., and the unholy alliance between big business and government, accountability will be pursued in order to safeguard democracy from further demise. Culture Project’s “Blueprint for Accountability” fuses theater, film, debate, and discussion to call attention to these issues, urging policy makers, elected officials, and citizens to craft a decisive moral response, capable of restoring American democracy.

It’s great that y’all are shedding light on the obvious connection of money and politicians [as if this is news] but what you utterly fail to understand is that it could not occur without corrupt judges who gave us the big dogs who appoint the foxes who guard the hens, i.e., the judiciary is and has been [throughout recent history (read Hitler's Justice)]
the real the power behind the thrones of George I and II [e.g., so-called legitimacy] that gave us Bush v. Gore (holding that counting votes is irreparable harm) and Citizens United (holding that corporations are more important than people). BOTTOM LINE: OPEN YOUR EYES TO REALITY, THE JUDGES [AND PROSECUTORS] HOLD THE KEYES TO FREEDOM AND NOBODY WILL ATTACK THE SACRED COWS BECAUSE WE HAVE ALL BEEN BRAINWASHED TO BELIEVE THAT PERRY MASON, BEN MATLOCK AND BOSTON LEGAL ARE REAL, NOT MERE PROPAGANDA AT THE ROTTEN CORE OF THIS FAILING EXPERIMENT IN DEMOCRACY. No matter what you do, until you stop the practice of judges judging themselves, all else is like chasing your tails or even the wind.
Thank you for your comment. You are correct in your opinion about the corruption within the courts. We do recognize that corruption. One of our partners in this event, Alliance for Justice, put forth a great film regarding this exact matter.
We are hoping that our panelists will shed light on these issues that threaten our democracy, which we are unable to do in such a small space. We encourage you to watch our live stream and share this insight with others.
If we could tackle all of the vandals that have disrupted our system (including justices), we would, but we have to start somewhere.
Thank you.
How can this organization be around for so long and yet I rarely if ever have seen mainstream exposure of this? Why isn’t there a full media sweep with adverts on a regular basis in the NYT, Washington Post, Wall St. Journal, Sunday News shows, etc.? Why not a constant barrage of simple, compelling facts repeated over and over until you frame the message and take it away from the propagandists?
This is all good and well but until you reach the masses this will not have much of an effect outside of those who participate in small doses.
I appreciate that we have “Watchdog Organizations” that are attempting to address the corruption that results from the excessive influence of power and money within out government. Keep up the good fight!
Good Luck!! Best Wishes.
OK Excellent.
Great news! I’ll be watching, it’s my birthday and what a present!
The specifics are lacking, here. I can’t spread the word about this important program, because I don’t know when it will be on and for how long or whether it will be aired again on the Internet, or on TV, at some later date. Tuesday at 7:00 PM is a little vague. 7:00 PM does not occur simultaneously in New York, Chicago, Denver and LA. I see that the program is airing in DC, so I assume we are talking about Eastern time. But, I don’t know that for certain and I want to plan my evening around this program. Also, whether it is an hour, or 90 minutes, or will be split up into a series, because there is so much to cover, is also not made clear for potential viewers. Lastly, I don’t have a web site, so can I watch this live-stream from my home computer or do I need to subscribe to some site or program to view it?
Thanks. I think this is great and way overdue. I hope the entire country watches it, because I see organized People Power as the only real solution. The greed needs to be stopped and those in charge seem incapable of restraining themselves.
Thank you for your questions, we apologize for the lack of clarity. The program will begin at 7:00 EST and will last approximately two hours. You can watch it online at http://fora.tv/live/culture_project/culture_project_blueprint_for_accountability. It will remain online to view after the event has passed.
We will update this information on our site.
We are happy to have you join us!
It is almost unbelievable that the Justices of the Supreme Court do not have to comply with at least the same Code of Ethics as all other Federal judges and show a disinclination to change their position. When are we going to press this fundamental issue of fairness, why the apathy? Are there just too many issues of greater importance?

Will it be available on TV?? If so, what channel? If not available, Why Not?? Not even on Al Gore’s Channel 107??
Not fair to intrigue us and not have it available to all of us.
Hello Angela,
You can watch the event live on FORA.tv at blueprint.fora.tv
We also have the live stream embedded at the top of this same page. Just come back at 7pm EDT, or visit FORA.tv.
I’m getting 5% intermittent program and 95% buffering. Huge FAIL, here. Very important program and we can’t see a thing.
will i be able to see the webcast in its entirety if i miss the live streaming.
Hi James Lewis,
You can watch the event online, here is the link to the ON Demand link:

Jesse, we need people like you to run for office. It’s great to hear an occupier being able to articulate the messages of the Occupy movement.
MoveOn.org says this program will be available On Demand, shortly. So, for those who had trouble viewing it, as I did, last night, due to all the buffering, perhaps we will actually be able to watch this important discussion.
Wondering if the March 27 live-streaming event was archived for future on-line viewing. I was unable to connect.
Thanks,
Bob Perry
